It’s a brand-new year, and our resolution for 2021 is to support our members and community 24/7 – 365.
We’re starting this year strong with Pride in January. Four weeks, twelve #SwipeItForGood partners, and lots of fun!
WEEK ONE: January 4th – 8th
In week one, we’re celebrating WTSQ 88.1, Bags of Blessings, and the Fun Fitness Kids Club by hosting Trivia for Good January 4th from 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM. For each player who attends, Element is donating $3. Donations will be split evenly between WTSQ 88.1, Bags of Blessings, and Fun Fitness Kids Club. The top trivia winner will receive $25.00 and second place will receive some Element Swag.
WEEK TWO: January 11th – 15th
In the second week of January, we’re celebrating the Kanawha Charleston Humane Association, the Itty Bitty Kitty Committee, and the South Charleston Public Library by hosting a Pet Pride Photo Contest. From January 11 to 14, you can post a picture of your pet looking fancy and have a chance to win $25.00. Element will also donate $50.00 in the winner’s name to their favorite #SwipeItForGood charity.
WEEK THREE: January 18th – 22nd
In week three, we’re celebrating Manna Meal, United Way, Heart and Hand, and Covenant House with our Pennies for Pie donation drive. All week, you can make a donation through the drive thru at the South Charleston and Kanawha City branches. We’ll also be asking you to vote with your donation for either Sam or Linda. Whoever receives the most donations will be “pied in the face”; a moment that will be memorialized on Facebook for Pie Day, January 22nd.
WEEK FOUR: January 25th – 29th
In the final week of January, we’re supporting Rainbow Pride, Charleston Main Streets, and Ohio Valley Pride with the launch of our Honestly Me video.

Support Your Community All Year With SwipeIt For Good
Did you know that Element actively supports local charities every day of the year? #SwipeItForGood is an Element Federal Credit Union charity rewards program that enables our members to give back to their favorite local charities.
We currently support twelve local charities, and we try to focus on at least one every month through our promotional campaigns and social media efforts. In 2020, we supported our #SwipeItForGood partners by collecting supplies, hosting Trivia for Good, hosting picture contests, honoring Essential Workers, and even by playing board games.
The best part about this program? It doesn’t cost you anything. Element donates in your name! For example, when you become a member at Element and open a Checking Account (and meet our qualifications), we’ll donate $50.00 from Element to the #SwipeItForGood charity you choose. You can even donate by eating at your favorite restaurant or shopping. For every swipe of your card, we donate $0.05.
